Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam University Recruitment Channel and all promise news. For many people, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that requires dedication and determination to pursue. Fitter and Faster proudly pays tribute to these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Jersey Wahoos 17-year-old Maddie Wagoner has made a verbal promise to the University of Wisconsin in the fall of 2023. Wagoner is an excellent long-distance freestyle swimmer with considerable versatility. Recently, Wagner won second place in the 1650 Free Speedo Winter Junior Championships-Greensboro East. At that meeting, she also qualified for the A-finals in the 500-player free game.
"I am very humble and ecstatic to announce my verbal commitment to study and swim at the University of Wisconsin-Madison! I am very grateful to my family, friends and coaches for their endless support. In Wisconsin"
Wagner made rapid progress in the mile race. This is her best race. She started 2021 with a personal best of 17:22.44 in 1650, and she was swimming at the age of 15 in 2019. In early March 2021, she reduced the time to 16:39.03, and then went swimming at 16:19.57 later. Then she shortened this time to 16:08.75. In LCM 1500, her grade dropped to 16:35.20, which placed her 51st among 15-16 girls.
Her personal best in 1650 will place Wagner in fifth place in the top ten championships in 2021. She will also be invited by the NCAA, where she will be 11th last year. She will add depth to a long-range team in Wisconsin that already owns Paige McKenna that is less than 16:00 miles.
